The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 太好看了，泪奔，小蠢太和高人站在一起，高人背后的世界变成蓝天白云，慢慢玻璃碎裂，这个细节太爱了，好喜欢这对啊，给我一直幸福下去！
真实的心意，一定要好好传达才能被知悉。遇到了特别的人，便有了属于自己的唯一选择。剧情挺好的
尺度未免也太小了吧，好歹是剧场版啊，我连两个男人的下半身都没怎么看到，只有一丁点肉渣可以吃，失望。
特典场。看了之后好幸福！因为你，我的世界有了色彩。为了对方而想要成为更好的人。所以，即使不在一个地方，但总会再见的。

高含量跳舞内容和（不标准）西语都怪尴尬的 可是 还是好喜欢两位哦～ 人高对蠢太原来比我想象的还要重要诶 有被感动🥹
上个月看的 看完电影就又去看漫画了orz 虽然感觉跳舞的气势完全不及在漫画里表现出来的 也总是用空镜抵消跳舞动作 但大体上还是很开心地看完了
本届北影节字幕员最省心的一部片。一度以为字幕员趴桌上睡过去了～
超級好看感動，本來簡直想評爆一千分！原本以為是輕鬆普通的番外，結果卻描述出蠢太小時候內心的封閉+因為高人先生世界終於變得有感情和色彩😭 最後高人先生親自弄了指環那裏我也涙目了。好看到爆！完全不明白為什麼分數那麼低！？？？以為起碼有9分以上！很想付錢支持他們製作如此精良的劇場版（但到底香港在哪裏能夠買？）

北影11#6啊太牛逼了！全片不超过十句对白，但后半部分特别抓人。太舒缓心灵了。一个人683米的深洞扎进了平静的乡村，周围全是牛脖铃的声音和山间不时的气候变化。到洞底时，老人也死了，那是城市的代价。
看到他虽然不自信但是每次都全力以赴的努力真的是棋逢对手势均力敌了呀～
看动漫的时候深觉东谷淮太在PUA，结果剧场版好多了，除了看不懂的舞步
跳舞的片段让人稍微有点尴尬，但这样的双向奔赴真好啊！想要再去西班牙了，热情浓烈！呜呜也好喜欢副cp，希望有生之年也可以看到他们多多出镜。片尾曲好好听！“能爱着你的世界，痛苦又甜蜜，是如此美丽。”希望能够尽快遇到mi tesoro❤️

北影节每次都会看到的那种看了和没看一样的电影。。。探洞探到底与人生走到尽头相互踩点了，电影确实有种失去时间般的诗意，素描画很精致，但是除此之外，就觉得一无所有了
#11th BJIFF 视听语言的奇妙，感觉时间过得好快。洞和人的眼睛的对照很有意思，对自然的探索与对身体的敬畏。能第一时间看到威尼斯的好电影，也是很爽。今天好多高中同学都保研了，而我却还前途迷茫，顿时觉得人在三里屯好孤独，感觉多穿一件衣服，希望大家都好吧@三里屯美嘉
